Inspired by B.F. Skinner's concept of 'Operant Conditioning,' this photographic series explores the construction of female identity as a learning process. Against a backdrop of repetitive, domestic wallpaper, my mother dresses me, piece by piece: the posture, the lipstick, the necklace, the pantyhose. Each gesture is a reinforcement, each adjustment an instruction. The sequence reveals how behaviors are shaped and internalized until the instructor's physical presence is no longer necessary. In the end, I follow the ritual alone, an automaton of the legacy I was taught.
