Sewing

Video-performance in which I appear seated while my mother stitches my face with needle and thread. The gesture, simultaneously tender and violent, transforms care into ritual and pain into bond. Between mother and daughter, the thread pierces the skin as a metaphor for inheritance, reparation, and the desire to keep the other united to one's own body.
